The Kansas City Chiefs and KaBOOM Joplin Playground Build

As you may remember, last week the Kansas City Chiefs journeyed to Joplin to help build a playground with local volunteers and KaBOOM.

Reminiscent of an old-fashioned barn raising, approximately 200 volunteers pitched in alongside representatives from KaBOOM and the Kansas City Chiefs in order to ensure the playground was completely built by 2:30 that afternoon.  It was truly heart-warming to see so many people work so hard to create this beautiful new playground for the kids.

As the volunteers - covered in dust, mulch residue, and sweat - watched, the KC Wolf invited students from Eastmorland Elementary to help cut the ceremonial ribbon and officially open the playground to the public.  The looks on the kids' faces said it all as they raced to try out the newly constructed equipment.

To get a little glimpse into all the fun we experienced that day, click on the video below.  Thank you, thank you, thank you to ALL who made this playground possible for the kids!
