Next weekend is, of course, Mother's Day. This year, as I was brainstorming on ideas of what to do to celebrate this special day, I thought to myself, "Hey, Self, instead of writing just one piece about that crazy, thrilling, exciting, amazing, period in our lives called, 'motherhood', why not ask others to share their experiences with motherhood? And why not run those stories all year long instead of on just one day?" My inner self thought she was onto something, so here it is: Do you have a story about motherhood you would like to share? Would you like to share with us an "Ah-Ha!" moment, one where you knew you had made a good decision with your kids or one that just made you feel warm and fuzzy all over? Please, we want to hear it!
Tell us your Mom Story, in 1000 words or less, and share with us what makes you proud to be a mom. Or maybe you have a story about your own mom, grandmother, or someone else who has inspired you or made you thought, "That is some good parenting, right there!" Tell us about your story, and I'll feature you here on "Since You Asked...." in a weekly series I'm calling "In Celebration of Mothers".
I'll keep the series open for submissions until we run out of stories (which means it may go on forever. Wouldn't that be fun!) If you have a story you'd like to submit, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
I look forward to hearing from you. Let's celebrate motherhood all year long!
