Tomorrow, November 2, 2011, the Joint Council on International Children’s Services, together with Adoption Learning Partners, will host a webinar, “Is it an adoption thing?”
This webinar is intended to help adoptive parents determine if their child’s frustrating or challenging behavior is adoption-related or simply typical, ornery, kid-type behavior.
Sometimes it can be difficult for adoptive parents to sort out a child’s behavior in order to seek the proper tools for assessing and correcting this behavior. While many resources exist for parents to utilize, often determining which ones are appropriate for their child’s individual behavior can be overwhelming and even counter-productive. In this webinar, Dr. Gregory Keck, director of the Attachment and Bonding Center of Ohio, will highlight and discuss common behaviors affiliated with adoption trauma as well as provide real-life examples and solutions to help handle these behaviors.
The webinar will run from 7-8:00 p.m. central time. A question and answer session will follow immediately after the webinar for approximately 30 minutes. To register for the webinar, which costs $15, click here. Upon registration, you will receive a confirmation e-mail along with a link to which you can submit your questions to Dr. Keck.
